Snippets of June

One third of our summer is already gone. Here are a few things we did in June that were notable:

Harvested spinach from our garden

Helped daddy work outside in the yard

Benny decided it was too hot to wear PJ's every night. He now strips every night and we find him in all of his diaper glory in the morning.

Jack got a new case for his pump that matches his glasses

We attended daddy's softball games on Monday nights

Ate ice cream, had picnics, and played in the sprinklers

I jammed two of my fingers falling out of the van. Now my wedding ring doesn't fit. I'm hoping it will get better once pregnancy and the summer is over.

Shad and I had a date with our friends the Hobson's and the Noonans to Arthur, IL (Amish country). We went to an Amish antique shop and got a few new pieces for our house:

Loved these old crates
The new pieces are the green lantern and spool
My favorite purchase was this awesome ice cream maker
Then we headed to the Amish grocery store called "Beechy's." They had all kind of cool specialty stuff there. We got a huge bag of oats, some bulk spices, some "Burch Beer" and a bag of lucky charms marshmallows.
Then we went to our favorite BBQ place in Arthur called "Pauly's." Shad and I found this place when we came out to Illinois house hunting and have wanted to go back ever since.

After dinner we stopped in Tuscola at the outlets to get Haken some running shoes for his birthday. We came home with a lot more than running shoes, including these beauties for Shad. Can't beat $200 Rockports for $20!

We really should do more dates like that. It was so much fun! We love going out with our friends.

We had a few other big things we did in June including our trip to Washington DC, but I will post those separately.
